One of the most heart warming aspects of a having a child is seeing their smile every day. But sadly, there are children born who are unable. Every three minutes a child is born with a cleft — often unable to eat, speak, socialize or smile. In some places these children are shunned and rejected. And in too many cases, their parents can’t afford to give them the surgeries they need to live a normal life. This is where Operation Smile steps in. Since 1982, Operation Smile — through the help of dedicated medical volunteers — has provided more than 2 million patient evaluations and over 200,000 free surgeries for children and young adults born with cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities. To learn more about Operation Smile and how you can help give the gift of a smile to a child make sure to check out their website. Also, make sure to let us know how you help give the gift of a smile via Facebook or Twitter!

The KidSafe Seafood program highlights the connections between ocean and human health to promote a better understanding of what species and which quantities of seafood are best for children to eat. The program encourages parents to diversify their children’s diets with a variety of environmentally friendly seafood options.
KidSafe Seafood educates and empowers families to engage in sustainable lifestyles that advance both ocean and human health.
Do your children eat a lot of seafood? What types? Tell us about it on our Facebook wall!
